Print Media


Print media refers to paper publications and signage, circulated in the form of physical editions of books, magazines, journals, newsletters and any display boards, according to your needs. The printed media that your company releases must convince clients that you have the service or product that they are looking for. Therefore it is not only the design that is important but also the quality of the printing itself. According to the company needs and the specific target market, the print runs will vary, example smaller volumes for invitations to a function and larger volumes for flyers and brochures. As a result different printing options are available:


Litho printing is commercial way of printing and is specific for larger volumes. It is a high quality fast printing process in which the unit price becomes cheaper, the higher the volume. You can print on almost any paper - recycled, coated or uncoated from 60gsm all the way up to 400gsm thickness.


Digital printing is specific for lower volumes. The quality is not as high as the litho but compares well and has improved tremendously in the last few years. The unit cost might be higher but you don’t have to print large volumes, only according to your specific  need. With digital printing you are slightly restricted with the paper as you can’t print on most of the textured paper, but can still produce a high quality end product.
Whether you print digital or litho, there are quite a few techniques, referred to as “finishing”, to enhance the look and feel of your end product, namely foiling, embossing, laminating, spot, UV and machine varnishing, die-cutting and the list goes on.
